Gold, silver and copper assays from Monte Alban Property.
2.41gpt gold, 19.3 gpt silver, 1.39% copper and 1.03% lead from a 1.8m wide exposed vein.
438 gpt silver and 3.09% copper from a stockpile grab and 94.3 gpt silver, 1.63% copper, 1.66% lead and 1.33% zinc from hydrothermal breccia.
Aurea Mining Inc. ("Aurea") reports on the drilling and surface mapping programs at its Monte Alban property, Taviche Mining District, Mexico. The Phase 1 drill program started last year continues to test the extent of the San Jorge Vein System below previous mine workings and along strike extensions of the veins. The drill is now testing the Chicharra area, located about 5 kilometres to the northwest of the drilling completed last year.
Over 20 veins have been mapped at surface at Chicharra, varying from less than one metre to over 15 metres in outcrop (not true width). These veins are thought to be the on strike extension of the northwest trending San Jorge Vein System. Assay results received from early stage outcrop sampling confirm highly significant gold, silver and copper mineralization for the area.
A selection of early stage assay results is tabled below, showing a very promising range of mineralization in this area. Samples include channels and/or random chips in outcrop, grab samples of outcrop and grabs from stockpiles beside historic mine workings

Located in the western part of the Monte Alban property, the Chicharra area hosts the Chicharra Mine, one of the many shallow past producing mines of the Taviche Mining District. Historically, the Chicharra vein had a known strike length of about one kilometre exposed at surface. Aurea's mapping and sampling programme has now extended that to a 1.5 by 1.5 kilometre area displaying in outcrop over twenty parallel and splayed veins, hydrothermal breccia and stockwork mineralization.
Mineralized outcrop continues to the east and southeast of Chicharra where veins dip below cover. Assay results from over 250 surface samples taken in outcrop are pending.
Samples are shipped to Guadalajara to ALS Chemex preparation laboratory where they are crushed and pulverized by standard procedures. A split of the pulp is then sent to the ALS Chemex laboratory in Vancouver for assaying. Gold is assayed by Chemex's AA23 method (fire assay with atomic absorption finish) and the remaining metals are assayed by Chemex's ICP-41 method (induced coupled plasma). Over limits for gold are fire assayed with a gravimetric finish (Au-GRA21) while over limits in other metals are assayed by aqua regia digestion with an atomic absorption finish (AA46).
