Drilling Starts at the Monte Alban property, Taviche Mining District
Aurea Mining Inc. ("Aurea" or "the Company") reports that drilling has begun on the Monte Alban project in the Taviche Mining District of Oaxaca State, Mexico. A minimum 5,000 metre contract was signed with Perforaciones y Sondeos 1947, S.A. de C.V. using one Longyear 44 drill rig drilling 24 hours a day. The contract is extendable and additional drill rigs are available to the project as required. Currently, twenty-one drill holes are planned as a preliminary test of the San Jorge Vein System at several levels along an initial 1,100 metre strike length. Previously reported assays from surface along this strike length returned an average sample width of ten metres grading 2.17 gm/tonne gold and 41.66 gm/tonne silver, (press release August 8, 2007).
Aurea Mining Inc. is focused on gold exploration in Mexico, building shareholder value through acquisition, exploration and discovery. The Company controls a 100% interest in over 80,000 hectares of contiguous mineral claims strategically located in the emerging Guerrero Gold Belt of Guerrero State, México. Aurea is committed to continuing its history of discovery in the Guerrero Gold Belt and is actively exploring and drilling their Guerrero projects. The Guerrero Gold belt hosts a 12 million ounce gold inventory that is currently being explored and developed by several major mining companies. The recent addition of the Monte Alban Property to Aurea's portfolio represents a significant growth opportunity in keeping with the company's focus.
