Aurea Mining Inc. Exploration Program Underway in the GGB, Mexico

Vancouver, BC: Aurea Mining Inc. ("Aurea") (TSX-V: MXA) is pleased to provide an exploration update on its Guerrero Gold Belt (GGB) projects in Guerrero State, Mexico.

Aurea Sur - Four field teams have completed detailed surface mapping of 1,000 hectares and an initial 192 geological samples have been sent to ALS Chemex Laboratories in Vancouver for processing and analysis. These teams are actively exploring the north-west 'El Consorcio' claim and will be sending further samples for processing and analysis approximately every 10 days. Preliminary exploration has thus far confirmed encouraging geophysical, geochemical, structural and mineralogical parameters required to develop quality drill targets.

Aurea Norte - Following a successful evaluation drilling campaign in 2005, the Company has commenced a further aggressive field program consisting of regional geological mapping and sampling on its 'Coyote West' claim, southwest of Goldcorp's 'Ana Paula' claim. Over the next 30 days, a ground magnetic survey on La Morenita claim will be performed, this survey will provide information for the drilling program in the property; additionally, field geologists will also grid sample two highly prospective showings, 'Rey David', and 'San Luis', all of which exhibit GGB gold bearing iron skarn-porphyry environments. Additionally, preliminary geological samples of Coyote West have been sent to ALS Chemex Laboratories and results will be forthcoming.

Aurea considers both projects to be in an environment analogous with other discoveries within the GGB, such as Goldcorp's Los Filos and Nukay deposits. Adjacent projects in the GGB currently host over 10M ounces of gold in various stages of exploration and development in assets being actively explored and/or developed by Goldcorp, Teck Cominco and Grupo Mexico.
