Monte Alban is an advanced-staged exploration project, located in the historic Taviche Mining District of Oaxaca State in southern Mexico. An area known for several high grade epithermal gold and silver discoveries, Monte Alban is situated at the core of this mining district and covers 2,805 contiguous hectares. Acquired in June 2007, Aurea has an option for a100% interest in Monte Alban.

The San Jorge Vein System (SJV) is the primary target at Monte Alban. Outcropping at surface for approximately 3 kilometers, San Jorge is a series of linear veins that form part of a known and district scale mineralized epithermal system. One of the principal veins was historically mined for its gold and silver content on a limited basis in shallow mine tunnels that vary in depth from 25 meters to 120 meters. Most of the SJV remains untested both at depth and along the strike.

In June 2007, Aurea commenced an aggressive exploration program on Monte Alban consisting of surface and underground sampling, mapping and a 5000 meter drill campaign.   Drilling is focused on the SJV with an   objective of working towards delineating a NI43-101 resource estimate over the next two years. Results from this initial exploration program will be reported as they are received. Numerous additional targets include parallel veins and large scale stockwork mineralization which has been observed at several locations on the property and will be part of Aurea's program as exploration progresses.
