The early stage Aurea Sur exploration project consists of 4 claims totaling 21,742.42 hectares All claims are 100% owned and controlled by Aurea Mining. Aurea Sur is located on the western extension of the Guerrero Gold Belt, west of Goldcorp's Los Filos Project and Grupo Mexico's Mina Verde showing.

In 2006 and 2007, a drill program was designed to test several widely spaced targets on the property and to generate a better understanding of this large mineralizing system. A total of 3,885 metres of early stage drill testing was completed in early 2007.   Current programs of infill mapping, regional prospecting with stream sediment sampling and local detail mapping with grid sampling is underway to further refine drill targets for future follow up drilling.
